Cameron Park, California is a relatively new community in a county where gold was discovered in 1848 to set the stage for the California Gold Rush. In the 1950's, visionary Larry Cameron purchased over 5,000 foothill acres for ranching purposes. Then during the 1960's, with the help of others, Cameron divided the land into many lots of varying sizes to make way for the eventual real estate boom. Cameron's vision of a neighborhood revolved around a country club and airpark and Cameron Park was born. Today, Cameron Park reflects a wide scope of interests, with ranch sized properties, medium and high density residential homes, shopping areas, a championship country club, recreational lake and the Cameron Park Airpark Estates.
